Day 26

Moving up a size in diapers has helped a little with the explosions.  Today just a little got out and only once.  Yeah!  Susana continues to love the fishy mobile.  She doesn't really care to be in the swing if its not on.

Day 25

Today we pulled out the big swing for the first time.  Both Susana and James were fascinated by it.  James loved all the buttons and Susana loved staring at the lights and fishy mobile.  I'm surprised James didn't try to climb in it like he did Susana's car seat later in the day during dance.  While I was making dinner I heard him say 'wohoo!' And ran to the living room expecting to see him pushing the swing crazy high.  While he was pushing the swing he was being very gentle and had even tucked his special blanket around Susana.

Day 24

I have become slightly obsessed with learning how to make new kinds of bows and making headband bows to match Susana's outfits.  I finished the bow she wore for most of today yesterday and it matched perfectly.  Of course she exploded on the outfit. The picture I took makes me think she's thinking, 'what?  What did I do?'

Day 23

Today I noticed when James brought a little pink dog for Susana 'to play with' that when I held it in front of her and moved it she was tracking the toy from side to side.  It was cute to watch her slowly move her eyes and head.  Amazing how much babies learn in their first year of life.

Day 22

Our sweet little princess is three weeks old.  I really wish I could slow time down.  Her newborn clothes are almost too small.  The onesie Susana wore today doesn't go all the way down to her wrists and was really hard to get on.  As fast as she is growing I still love her tiny body.  Tonight she was so cute sitting on the couch by me that I had to stop and kneel by her as she just stared so innocently and happily at me.  Such a true and beautiful blessing.

Day 21

Second time going to church.  This week she is wearing the little purple dress that was the first fluffy thing I bought when I found out Alexis was a girl.  I love this purple dress.  All three of my girls have worn it now.  Today I looked at pictures of each of my girls wearing the dress.  So fun to go back and look at pictures from when they were small.  I treasure the little moments now so much better than I did then.  I'm incredibly grateful to hold and have this little one in my family.

Day 4

Happily laying in her bassinet wrapped in a blanket one of my old piano students, Bekah Barrowes made for me.  Susana likes to be wrapped up but not her arms and hands.  Her hands she wants to move and stretch.  Today is the last day of bed rest for me.  It has been really nice to just focus on resting and my new beautiful daughter.

Day 20

Hooray today Susana slept from just before midnight to just before five.  Five solid hours of sleep for Mommy feels wonderful.  Plus after that Susana stayed asleep and went back in her bassinet for a few more hours.  Today we also had to say good bye to Grandma.  Two weeks went by so fast.  These first three weeks have been wonderful.  I especially loved the first two weeks of super sleepy baby and having both my Mom and Taylor home.  Taylor went back to work this past week and Mom left today.  I don't want to go back to reality.  I've been so happy and feeling so great.  I'm afraid reality is going to change that a little.

Day 19

I like to be held!  When I'm held I'm happy.  Put me down and I'll start to fuss.  Don't pick me up and I'll get really upset!
~ Susana

Day 18

Still enjoying time with Grandma!  James is protective of Susana but I still need to protect her from him sometimes.  Today he decided to play planes by her and show her his big plane.

Day 17

Happy birthday to me!  Susana helped in the celebration by letting me put multiple cute outfits on her today (ok it was really because she kept pooping on them)  She will sleep in her bassinet, car seat or boppy pillow during the day but at night just wants to be held.  (We're going to have to work on that.)  She is almost too big for the jammies she is wearing tonight...sniff, sniff.

Day 16

8lb 14oz that's how much little one weighed today during her two week check.  She pooped through two outfits today and went through several diapers.  I had her try size one diapers yesterday but I think they are still just a little too big so I bought one more pack of newborns tonight.  I also finally finished her carseat cover.  It worked great during our shopping trip and looks really cute.

Day 15

Two weeks.  How I wish time could have gone slower through the first two weeks.  I love sleepy brand new baby phase.  Susana is defiantly more awake and fussy today.  She also gets hiccups several times a day and has been since she was two days old.  They are cute and don't seem to bother her yet.  Today Grandma was a huge help and let me take a much needed nap and held off a very hungry Susana while I finished up piano lessons.

Day 14

First day of church and dressed in a fun fluffy dress.  Today was probably one  of the best sacrament meetings we've had in a long time (letting James bring a lunch box with lunch had a lot to do with that).  We're also still very much enjoying time with Grandma!

Day 13

Two outfits today because we had a major poop explosion on one.  The worst one so far.  Guess that's what comes from eating so much.  Which brings me to my picture choices for today.  One of my favorite views and feelings is when I hold my babies nursing.  I also love holding them when they are so little and awake and watching their many expressions.  Tonight we went out to dinner with Grandma.  Susana slept right through dinner and woke up after we got home (which is when I took today's pictures)

Day 12

Even more awake times today.  Susana sat in her boppie pillow by me while I worked on her carseat cover.  We also had to make a wal mart trip and Susana got all bundled in her snugly bear outfit.

Day 11

She is starting to have longer awake times.  One of witch is right around her older siblings bedtime.  This makes it very hard for big sisters to go to bed because they both want turns holding her.

Day 10

Today Susana took her first bath.  She liked being placed in the warm water but did not like her head being washed.  Daddy did a great job washing her.

Day 9

I love having lots of little accessories.  So fun dressing her up!  Aunt Catrina made her little hat and a friend made the headband.  Her outfit says I love daddy.  The midwife came today.  Susana now weighs 8 lb 10oz.  She obviously eating just fine. : )

Day 8

One week!  One week has already come and gone.  Such a wonderful week.  Today Susana wore multiple outfits because she kept pooping on things.  I had fun finishing up two head bands for her.  The white one will be for her blessing day and was made from fabric remnants from the dress I made.  Both Alexis and Ariana were blessed in that dress.
