So as some of you know, I've been participating in a 6 week weight loss competition with 10 other women. We all put in $20 dollars so who ever has the biggest percentage of weight loss as of August 11 wins all the money. We are down to our final two weeks and I've been doing pretty good. I go to my cardio strength classes M,W,F and go on walks/runs every morning. I've lost about 12 lbs so far yeah!! So those of you who are good with numbers have realized that $185 is not what you win BUT this morning Justin is out of town so I took the girls with me on my morning walk. Our third garage port does not have an automatic opener and in the morning I go out that door and close it just far enough so it doesn't lock. When I left the garage this morning I was in the middle of telling the girls to sit still and not fight when I was closing the door and without thinking closed it all the way! Great, Justin is out of town and doesn't get back until tomorrow and what do I do I lock myself and my girls out of the house at 6:30 in the morning! Super, and I have preschool at 9:30 today! I didn't want to go knock on anyones door then so I went on my walk and then over to my friend Teneal's (sorry I don't know how you spell your name Teneal) They graciously let us in, me being stinky and everything from walking and let me use the phone to call a lock smith. I quickly went through the phone book and called the first add I saw advertising home lock outs. Now this is how you make an easy $185 dollars you teach your self how to pick peoples locks and then when they are in distress and call for help you charge them $185 dollars for two minutes worth of work by picking their lock! $185 dollars!!!! thats more than I can even win in the weight loss competition. So now my new habit of exercising and trying to loose weight is costing me way more than I could ever have imagined. Lessons Learned Today: hide a key, if you do get locked out ask how much before the lock smith comes and then call around for better rates. Justin is not going to be happy when he gets home : (

A fast way to earn $185

"Oh, what do you do in the summer time?"
So what do you do in the summer time in Las Vegas when the world is not green because the sun doesn't like to allow it? Answer Water Time! Today after preschool Ariana and Alexis wanted to keep playing outside in the sprinkler. I enjoyed watching and listening to the events that followed before lunch time.
Ariana is playing leap frog over a stream of water and Alexis is being creative and making up a song about being happy because if you aren't you go to time out.

Is Silence Always Golden?
Every parent cherishes quiet peaceful moments. You know the ones when the kids are asleep. But what about those times when the day is going along and all of sudden you are panicked not because of a loud crash or screams but because the house has gone eeirly quiet. I think these are the moments some of us dread the most because this silence is often not golden but the indication that something, probably very naughty, is happening. Well awhile ago when I was upstairs on the computer I was startled because my house was completely quiet except for the sound of my computer keys typing and it wasn't rest time. Yikes and PANIC!! I jumped up and began my search for my two little girls. This is what I found:
With the help of big sister Ariana was playing with scissors and push pins. Fortunately nothing but yarn was cut this day.

Alexis was busy making up her own version of pin the tail on the donkey. She has never actually played this game but I think they had been watching Pooh Bear earlier so maybe this is because of Eyore. The big pink ribbon by her feet (that I had told her earlier on in the day was not for her to cut) is the "donkey" and the other balls of strings and tacks are the "tails". We had to take turns picking out "tails" to try on the donkey. I guess things could have been worse but still silence is not always golden. : )

You have to watch this movie!
This movie was recommended to me by a friend in CA. If you haven't seen it yet, go rent it! All right you don't have to but as far as I am concerned this movie is great. Your husband probably won't want to watch this with you because it is very chick flick and I have to warn come with a roll of T.P. or a box of tissue. (My floor is covered right now with them and I'm not much of a crier) Oh, I wish real men were this romantic. : ) Ok some are. Sadly like most modern movies there are a couple points that aren't appropriate, like a man's bare bum after he gets out of the shower, and a few swear words, so if you do watch this don't let your little ones in the same room. Sad isn't it that scenes like this exist in almost all movies now? The story is very touching though and I love it! (just in case you didn't figure that out yet)

4'th of July
Yesterday was such a great day! Thursday night Justin and I went to the Bee's vs. 51's minor league baseball game so bedtime was really late. Hence, yesterday as soon as we woke up we threw on our clothes and headed over to the church for our ward's 4'th of July breakfast. It was lots of fun and the girls had a great time with the water fight. Some of the men in the ward got the firehidrant on and Justin decided it would be fun to carry each one of us into the water. Yes, that included me. : ) In the afternoon we watched movies, had bbq hot dogs, and lots of watermelon. I had the girls make their own flags and then we made cookies. When it got dark we lit sparklers and watched our neighbors set off the most amazing (and illegal) fireworks show. It lasted for an hour! Right before they were about to set off the finally the police showed up. Nobody got fined or arrested but they couldn't set off the finally. Oh-well. I wish I could post pictures but my camera ran out of batteries and we are completely out of AA batteries so it might be awhile before I can take more pictures. Alexis kept saying yesterday that "this is the best day ever!" I'm so glad that my girls had a good time and I really enjoyed just being with my family and seeing the big smiles on my girls faces.

Fun Week?
I took this week off from preschool and decided that this was going to be a fun week for my girls and I. Well why did I have to go and decided fun week would include potty training week? I was hopping Ariana would do really well and this would be a lot easier than Alexis. Ariana has been using the potty about 1-2 times a day for the past 2 months and normally runs to tell me when she has gone in her diaper and she wakes up dry in the mornings. Piece of cake right? WRONG! I hate potty training! Yesterday she did 3 drops in the potty, 4 accidents (at least 3 where outside) and was begging for a diaper so she could go pooh-pooh. Maybe I'll start again next week when I'm not trying to take a week off.
The good news is we are having fun. Monday we went to the water park. Tuesday we went to Skoops for ice-cream and today we had lunch with Daddy and are doing a painting craft project. Tomorrow we are going to Bounce U at 10am so if anyone would like to come join us feel free.
