More Blessing Day Pictures

Here are a few more pictures from James blessing day:

James Hunter Richard Ashby

Our sweet baby James was blessed yesterday by his Grandpa James Frederick who is also one of the people whom he is named after. His full name is James Hunter Richard Ashby. He is named James after my father his Grandpa Frederick, Richard after his Great Grandpa Anderson and his Dad, and Hunter is the name Alexis wanted so badly for a little brother that we let her help pick part of his name. James looked incredibly cute and sweet in his little blessing outfit. He is such a blessing in my life. I love this little boy beyond words or reason.

Silly thing about James: when is he happy and smiling he won't stop moving his head! So to try and get a really good picture of him smiling is almost impossible. This is the series that we had to take to get a picture with me and him in the morning before the blessing:

Yup and the last one that finally isn't blury he is not smiling : )

Here are some more pictures from our special day:

Christmas Dance Recital 2011

Alexis and Airana did a fabulous job at their dance recital. We all got to hear Ariana sing and practice "I want a hippo potamus for Christmas" for weeks before the recital.

Happy New Year!

This year for New Years the kids and I were in Utah. We celebrated when the ball first dropped in New York at 10pm Utah time. The kids had a great time making party crowns, eating doughnuts and yelling HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Some people have issues with new years resolutions. I don't but this year I am keeping mine really simple. I am focusing on making 2012 a time for healing and forgiveness. I really enjoyed a quote given in church on new years:

The past is behind us...Learn from it.

The future is ahead of us...Prepare for it.

The present is here... Live in it.

I may not have quoted it exactly right but its close and I think it goes a long with what I want to achieve this year.

We Love Buffalo Wild Wings

We love Buffalo Wild Wings at our house! Its been awhile since we had gone last so Thursday after I was done teaching piano we headed out for wing night. See even James is excited to be there! : )

Surprise Early Birthday

I have the best sister-in-law, cousin and friends ever and oh they all got me so good this year! I turn 30 next Saturday and to celebrate my sister-in-law Catrina wanted to take me out to lunch before she went out of town. Things have been a little crazy and I had some important appointments pop up for the day we had planned our lunch that I really needed to go to and she knew it so I was getting a little annoyed that she was so adamant that we had to do lunch that day and time. Well I was very shocked, surprised and embarrassed when I walked into the restaurant almost 30 minutes late because of my dentist appointment to this lovely group of ladies singing at the top of their lounges Happy Birthday. To make it even sweeter they even got me a gift for a spa day. I've never ever had a spa day. The surprise lunch would have been more than enough. All day long after that I received calls and messages from friends that couldn't make it saying happy early birthday. Thanks guys I feel very loved!

The woman I want to be...

These two pictures but more particularly the one on the bottom I feel capture the woman I want to be and what I want the world to see in me. When I look at the bottom picture I see a beautiful, confidant, happy woman that rejoices in her life and her moment. When I look at the top picture I see again a pretty woman but one who is also at peace. These are things that I want to be and what I want others to see/find in me. Am I all these things? Not all the time but I'm trying. Life can be so hard, I just want to remember and BE the happy woman laying in the gorgeous green grass joyfully laughing.
